The '''Kashmiri Gharana''' is one of the oldest gharanas of '''Sufiyana music''' in the Indian subcontinent. It holds historical importance as a foundational tradition in classical Sufi music. Even '''Ustad Ali Baksh Khan''', the father of the legendary vocalist '''Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan''', was a disciple of the Kashmiri Gharana. Ustad Ali Baksh Khan, also known as '''Ustad Ali Baksh Jarnail Khan''' (1850–1920), was a renowned Indian classical singer. 

In the 19th century, Ustad Ali Baksh Khan, along with his friend '''Fateh Ali Khan''', co-founded the '''Patiala Gharana''', which became one of the most prominent gharanas of Hindustani classical music. This connection underscores the Kashmiri Gharana's influence and its role as a precursor to the Patiala Gharana.
